I bought this car about 7 months ago, pretty much how it is now. It is such a good little car, great on fuel, it has been remapped to 105bhp with 200lbs of torque so is very fast off the mark, I have out done Type R civics off the mark therefore it is a fun, nimble little car too. IT has a full stainless steel powerflow exhaust worth £500 fitted to it, sounds great.
The lad who had it before me must have had it a lot lower with different wheels on it as there is a rust patch on one of the arches, where it looks like the lip of a rim has been rubbing on it.
The lupo will come as seen, with the roof bars, the bonnet and the sub woofer in the boot. Depending on the sale price will depend on whether i include the head unit or not. I have a set of lupo rear lights too as i was going to change the arosa ones back, but never got round to doing it.
I bought this car as a cheap little run about but with the hopes of doing it up so that it was show worthy but due to work, i have never had chance to do it, the looks have never botherd me but in my opinion it needs some sorting out the 'bad boy' bonnet has a crack in the fibreglass above one of the lights, but i was going to swap the bonnet with an original one as i think the bad boy one makes it look very chavvy.
The car gets a lot of looks wherever you go, i used to run it on some rota grids, but the lupo will come on standard steel wheels as seen in the pictures.
The interior of the lupo is very standard and could do with a clean up, never really bothered me much. The dashboard has been modified to include a volt meter and a boost gauge however the boost gauge is not actually connected to the turbo so does not actually give a reading, the voltmeter is fully working though.
Recently i have had a new sub frame put on the lupo as the other was wearing away, i think that was due to the car being a lot lower when the other lad had it, whilst it was in the garage the mechanic changed the CV Boots, Anti roll bar bushes and links, and re allinged the wheels, therefore it drives brilliantly, it also has a new oil sump on it as the other one had a slight leak when i bought it. One problem the car has is that the coil light flashes on the dash when driving, i have recently found out that this is because the brake light switch has gone faulty or has broken, therefore the brake lights tend to do what they want, these are only about 6 pounds off ebay for a replacement one, if i have the time i will change it.
Although the car could do with a 'tart up' the engine is excellent, by far the best engine i have ever owned. it pulls in every gear, whilst maintaining a great MPG of about 50 - 60 on normal runs. The lupo also has a straight through stainless steel exhaust on it, therefore sounds a lot 'meatier' the exhaust isnt too loud as well, which was good for me as i my garage is surrounded by houses.
I will be very sad to see this car go as i really enjoy driving it, it's brilliant. However i have my eyes set on something bigger, and seeing as the TDI lupo's are becoming rare and very saught after, i figured i may as well let it go.
