1986 ford capri laser running project with mot

was bought to put back to standard but its too modified for me

it is registered as a 1.6 but has a 2.0 205 pinto fitted

fitted with the 32//36 carb with manual choke this looks to have been refurbished recently

when it came in it had a cam rattle so ive now swapped heads from a spare 205 engine I had at the same time I fitted new-

dizzy cap

points

condenser

points

spark plugs

ht leads

cam belt

head gasket

inlet gasket

exhaust gaskets

fan belt

she fire up and sounds well

fitted with a four branch manifold

five speed type 9 gearbox

she does start and drive

the front brakes are a little sticky as its been stood a couple of months but will free off

the modified bit as you can see from the pictures is the shell

its been de bumpered along with the side strips removed

they have cut the sunroof out and welded a panel in with a brace underneath then started to flat it out with filler and it looks like they gave up the roof is pretty dam strong

im assuming they were going for the track day look possibly a roll cage etc

it wants a repair small to the scuttle passenger side

a repair to the passenger front wing next to the light and at the bottom however I do have them bits cut from a spare wing if there needed (it had duct tape covering the areas as its not structural)

the back of the same wing wants a repair again I have that section

the lower rear corner passenger side wants a repair

the end of the sill passenger side too has a hole in it

the white bits you can see on the car is the backing from duck tape where they had a cover taped to the car I started peeling it off and got bored it does come off though

the bonnet has been filled to the front rear of it looks good

the windscreen is out but I do have it with the car just no rubber its the larger screen

the strut tops are untouched and good the doors and boot are good

I have the glass for the boot lid and I can bond it in if needed

one key fits all locks

the petrol flap is missing but im sure I have one somewhere

as are the number plates lights again I may have some

the interior is complete I have the headrest for the passenger side

ive probally got another pair of laser front seats in better condition

it wants a non sunroof roof lining unless your going to fit a roll cage

it wants the bolt that holds the bonnet cable in place I may have one somewhere

I have the matching two front wheels they have a leak from the beading but are included if I get chance ill get them done

I have the full v5 in my name

and its moted so in theory you could refit the screen and use it as is whilst you do bits to it as you go along




its not a bad project for someone looking to get on the capri ladder

it has a brand new battery too




viewings are more than welcome test drives are limited to the yard as it has no screen fitted
