Talbot Horizon

Location: West Midlands - Stourbridge
Swap Value: £300-£400

Description:

1981 Talbot Horizon 1.1LS 47,000 miles with the robust Simca OHV engine and Chrysler Electronic Ignition

I bought this car with the intention of getting it on the road but at the moment finances mean that is not possible. Not that it needs too much.

It failed the MOT on the following:

1) OS CV joint gaiter damaged
2) OS Lower Ball Joint Excessive Play
3) Brake has no servo assistance (Mechanic reckons it is a problem with the hose)
4) OS Front Brake Binding
5) OS Rear Brake Binding
6) OS Rear Brake recording little or no effort
7) OS Front Tyre needs replacing
8) NS Rear Tyre needs replacing
9) NS Front Flitch needs welding (not a large amount)
10) OS Rear upper shock mounting needs welding (this needs removal of the fuel tank and is the main reason I haven't had it done yet)
11) Battery insecure (easy to sort)
12) Windscreen washer not working
13) Brakes imbalanced

Looks a lot but mostly small items.

The engine runs well and it has had new plugs, leads, Dizzy Cap, Rotor Arm and timing adjusted.

It has been waxoiled underneath and is solid as are the body panels apart from the front wings which are a little tatty.

If there is no interest I will keep it until I get the time and money to do the work but that won't most likely be before next Spring.

These are rare and this must be one of the earliest survivors so I am not willing to see it go to someone who is not interested in getting it on the road.

I would be interested in a swap for anything pre 1990 and interesting that doesn't need much welding!

I want to swap for

Anything pre 1990 and interesting, preferably below 1500cc.
