History

I have owned the car since Janurary 2011 where i bought directly from Evans Halshaw Vauxhall. The car was previously used in Southampton by a female banker who had the car from new in 2006 and sold in late 2010. The car has a FULL SERVICE HISTORY. maintaned entirley by Vauxhall main dealer in Southampton. I traced back every MOT on this car and bought in confidence with a 2 year warranty from the dealer. The car covered 63,000 miles on purchase and now has 99,000. It had the cambelt and waterpump and tensioners all changed last year at great expense.

The Car

The Astra is a 2006 1.9 CDTI Sport Model which comes with A/C / Alloy wheels / MP3 CD as standard. Don't confuse this with the 1.6/1.8 and 2.0 Petrol engines which are both underpowered and heavy on fuel. The Astra will easily acheieve 37 mpg around town and 50+ mpg on a run. The metalic blue is a rare colour which looks good in the sun! The interior was upgraded in 2012 for the half leather version found in the top spec of these cars. (During the swap the airbag light appeared on the dash but i have never got round to getting the dealer to turn this off!) The car is protected with superguard protection on the paintwork and is cleaned 1-2 times per week by myself. in 2013 it had a full detail by G5 detailing - a local and national mobile detailing company making the car look factory fresh. There are a couple of small stone chips to the bonnet as you would expect on a 99k motorway car but dont worry its not showered in them and the condition of the car is overall excellent

The common faults with this car have all been addressed - In 2011 the alternator was deemed faulty and replaced by evans halshaw. In 2012 a complete new roof mecahnism was fitted to the car by Dudley Vauxhall including pump, wiring and hydrualics - Costing over £2400 to the main vauxhall dealer dudley motor company I have the invoce for this So dont worry about the roof, its good to go for years now as they replaced all the motos, pump, seal, wiring loom and actuators. I also had the common EGR valve replaced in 2012 for a brand new one as the valve was occasaionally get stuck causing low power. I have also had the upgraded metal swirl flap bar fitted to the siwrl flaps this year again a common fault on the 1.9 CDTI engines as i started using it for more town driving recently So essentially, thats everything that normally goes wrong already sorted for the new owner.

Exterior

The car is lowered slighty approx (30mm) on the Vauxhall approved Eibach proline springs which make for a better ride and more appealing look, The rear lights have also been smoked along with a carbon wrapped front grill and rear boot strip. The carbon wrap on the boot strip front grill and the smoke wrap on the rear lights can all be removed free of charge if you would prefer. Please note - the bonnet guard which stops stone chips to the bonnet is not included with this sale as has already been sold. The wheels have been refurbed recently and are kerb free fresh silver wheels with pirelli tyres all round with great tread on them.I have done over 35,000 miles in this car and used it as my daily car. It has also been my pride and joy and a common sight at many car shows where it gets much attention. However its time to move on to another vehicle, i no longer do the 50 mile commute to university and am only pottering around time to and from work which is not ideal for a diesel engine. Im looking to buy something either comfortable, like a 4x4 with low milage or a nice coupe / roadster. If you are selling anything let me know! I'm not in a rush to get rid so no silly offers but i have access to another car if you wanted to snap this up quick. Mileage will go up as im still using daily.
