Description:
The first of the 1 litre superbikes :)
Ridiculously fast at the time (it was the fastest production bike in the world) and still considered fast today, 10 sec 1/4 mile times and a top speed of 167 mph.
The bike is in great condition having had some paintwork, its not perfect by any means, but for its age its fantastic.
It had a brand new chain and wavey front discs for its mot a couple of months ago, it also has around 9 months tax left.
I also have a brand new set of chain and sprockets for the bike, I was planning on fitting these after winter, the new rear sprocket has been painted gold (looks great)
The bike has been fitted with heated grips for the winter commute and I have just fitted a brand new dark tint windscreen last month.
I also fitted a brand new set of the early A1 model wing mirrors, the bike came with the larger A3 model mirrors but they require painting/refurbishment (I have them in the garage if needed) personly I think the later mirrors look horrible and belong on a car towing a caravan.
The suspension has been lightly modified with a 5mm lower front end and 1inch rear lift to aid corner turn in, its a great mod and does wonders for the bike.
It has a full stainless exhaust system of uknown origin, one can has a small dent, the other side has what looks like a welded on exhaust clamp that has rust on it (no idea why) its mostly hidden by the fairing anyway so I left it alone, the exhaust has a looooooong life left so no worries about that.
This is a proper oldskool brute of a bike, its big, heavy and fast it wont be sutible for the smaller rider, unless your a bit mental :)
I am in no reall hurry to change bikes, im quite enjoying this one to be fair, but I am quite intrested in a ZX7R or older GSXR 750, maybe an early R1 thats a bit rough? WHYG?
