Yamaha YZF R125 - 2009 - Blue - Customised/Modified.

This bike is perfect for any learner or even a full licence holder. It easily reaches 80+ mph without any redline thrashing which is perfect for town riding and even for use on the motorway if needed.

I have used this for the last 7,000 miles over 2 years without a single fault. I got the bike second hand, in stock condition, with 4,000 miles in April 2012. Since then I have tastefully modified the bike and customised it to my liking. All mods and improvements are 100% UK Road Legal and I have personally taken this bike through 2 MOT tests so far without issue.

This bike has ALWAYS been ran on Higher Octane "Premium" Fuel.
99% of the time this has been Shell V-Power Nitro+ and occasionally with BP Ultimate 99. I have NEVER used basic unleaded on this bike and due to this I can assure you that this bike has little to ZERO carbon deposits on the cylinder and piston and no trapped dirt in the fuel lines or injector.
I have also dumped a bottle of REDEX into the tank a couple of times a year. I have NEVER had a single fuelling issue or power drop on this bike and I can only assume this is due to me being so determined to only using top quality fuels and fuel cleaning products.

I have routinely changed the oil every 1000 - 1500 miles and changed the oil filter every 1500 - 2000 miles. I have always used top quality branded oils such as Shell Ducati Ultra, Castrol Power Racing, Yamalube and RockOil etc. I have NEVER used any oil that is less than a semi synthetic 10w40 viscosity. I have always used either Genuine Yamaha or K&N oil filters.

The brake fluid I used is Shell Ducati DOT 4 Racing.

Soon after I got the bike, during the first service, I changed the stock Yamaha Paper Panel Air Filter for a K&N Cotton Mesh Panel Air Filter.
This is a direct replacement for the paper filter and is specially designed to fit the R125's air box. It is also a lifetime filter and NEVER needs to be changed. K&N do recommend giving the filter a clean with their filter oil lube spray (costs £5), but this is only every 50,000 miles!

I also changed the standard stock copper core spark plug for an NGK Race Iridium version. These are designed and proven to last much longer than standard copper spark plugs and when used on a single cylinder 125cc bike, it will last a lifetime quite easily. An Iridium spark plug also eliminates any misfires and helps with fuel efficiency and economy too.
