Mercedes

1989

Description:
Mercedes 190 E 2.5-16 Cosworth (1989)
Rare 2500cc Cosworth engine and even rarer 4 speed automatic gearbox in a highly sought-after colour combination - metallic blue-black (c 01.01.1993) with well cared-for original full leather interior in black/anthracite (271). 150,000 miles which is below average for a car of this age. As you can see from the photos, this car has been very much well cared for. Full and extensive (£18,000+) service history - both FMSH and MB independent garages have carried out all of the work, which also includes a full gearbox rebuild in 2010 at a cost of £1,300; the car has since then covered less than 1,500 miles. All MOT certificates to date present. Original 15 inch alloy wheels, including a fifth spare.
There are a couple of downsides to this vehicle – firstly, there is a slight knocking sound that comes from the rear of the vehicle which I have been told is due to the rear bush.
Since having the rear door card repaired the electric window won't work.
Features include:
• Right front seat, electrically adjustable
• Additional lamp
• Electric sliding roof with tilting device
• Automatic transmission, floor shift
• Headrests in the rear
• Paintcoat preservation
• Electric window lifters (front and rear doors)
• Electric window lifters, fourfold or sixfold
• Heat-insulating glass, all-around, heated rear window pane (single-sheet safety glass), band filter
• Green heat-insulating glass all round, heated rear window, single pane safety glass - tinted strip
• Headlamp wiper unit and oil for rear axle with limited-slip differential, in canisters and containers
• Lamp unit, asymmetrical, l.h. traffic
This is a classic Mercedes from an era when their build quality was impeccable. I will be sad to see this car go; it is a classic already and will surely keep going up in value.
