kew gardens 50 pence worth 200 times it's face value
Location: North West England - wallasey
Swap Value: £100-£200
Description:
A 50p piece commemorating 250 years of the Royal Botanical gardens at Kew is now the most sought after coin currently in circulation in the UK.
Only 210,000 of these coins were produced in 2009 marking this important birthday for Kew Gardens with an image of a pagoda encircled with vines on the reverse.
It is now believed by experts to be worth 200 times of its face value and is expected to disappear shortly from circulation.
According to the Royal Mint, one in 300 people are likely to have the coin in their possession with coin collectors snapping them up for greater and greater prices.
