Swap Value: £2.000+
Model:
Land Rover Discovery

1997

192,000 miles
Description:
Testing the water to see what cash offers I get for my trusty disco, possibly looking to sell to buy or swap to buy a celica gt4.
The disco is a 300tdi, last of the manual/cable operated injection pumps. It has been tuned correctly using EGT and Boost gauges, they are installed on a dash pod. Side exit exhaust, not the rough way more like a defender. I will list all the mods/replaced parts below
- Boost Gauge, currently running standard boost
- Exhaust Gas Temp Gauge, currently runs to 600 deg's at full load over a long period of time, the safe limit is 700 deg so well under.'
- New Clutch less than 1000 miles ago
-New Lift Pump
-Safari Snrokel
-Wading Kit
-50mm Heavy Duty lift springs
-Steering Guard
-Diff guards both front and back
- Light bar with 6 spots
- Converted to phase two td5 headlights
- Custom side'ish exit exhaust, middle box so not too loud
- brand New Maxxis Bighorn MT tyres, less than 1000miles ago
- All oils changed regularly
- Dislocation cones, not fitted at the min
- Heavy duty winch bumper
- Rock/tree sliders
- Interior lights changed to stip LED type, loads better
- Drive doughnut changed recently
- 2x 4 light cree LED work lights currently fitted on to of light bar
That's it I think as far as mods goes, does have rust in arches in the door cravises, needs them replacing at some point, does smoke a little but then again it does shift now its been tuned so normal.
4X4 works great, low, high, diff lock etc all engages and disengages as it should. Overall a great truck, not brand new and certainly not immaculate, easy to live with, never been offroaded, never been submerged, basically doneup ready to go off road but haven't yet dared to take it!
I have and do run it on straight vegetable oil you buy in the shops, I have done well over 10,000 on it so far at a 60% mix, she actually runs smoother, quieter and more powerfull on the veg, totally legal and as long as you don't use too higher a percentage it will do no harm to the 300tdi engine.
If you don't know much about these cars then you might think 192 thou is a lot, but if you came and seen this lanny run, drive, stop and start you would think it were new, starts first flick of the key everytime, Ultra reliable, looks good, drives even better!
Like I say looking for cash offers or if you've got a gt4 maybe a swap.
