where to start with this, i bought this on the cheap so i could do it up i was told it needed a new turbo and that the paint was shabby, i bought it anyway always loved these cars so i got 1.
engine side... first of all i took it down to the local turbo specialists (a.e.t turbos) who are one of the uks leaders in turbo technology and they told me once the turbo had been stripped that it was perfect condition so we had to find the fault else where, after 2 week at a garage with all the engine out they found the proplem< the stem seals needed replacing as they werte worn badly, i got this sorted andnow has stopped smoking all together and runs mint now theres no tapping banging or clunking its had a new cluth put in think ive done around 30miles in it with the new clutch, new alternator and a full service. the guy i bought this off ownes a storage yard a woman has been keeping it in there for 3 and a half years she decided to sell it as she was never going to drive it again so he put it up for sale on her behalf, which means theres not loads of service history but there is some, i was also told by colling that the engine wasnt standard( reason i also wanted it) its meant to have had head skimmed and polished with hi lift cams however i cant back this up as theres no proof, it says that these are 130bhp standard, and i took it out 1 night with the mate just to get a feel of how fast it was< my mates got a 190bhp astra and he couldnt shake me from his bumper so its deffinately got more power from somewhere, all the car has been fully respraid back red as the old paint work was very shabby with scratches every where, its got new breaks all round and complete new set of coilovers which are fully ajustable, the whole car has been wax oiled using 3m oil and the underside has all been undersealed with 3m body schuts and is now like brand new, now the interior.... it realy dose look like no1's ever sat in it its immaculate theres no stains cig burns or rips in the seats or the carpet it has got central locking and has got an alarm im just not sure wt make the alarm is. the car is taxed for 5 month and tested for 11 month i cant upload any pictures just yet as my usb port has broken so i will eventually get them on, any questions then ring me on 07585116607
