A well maintained excellent condition example of a car with plenty of nostalgia and appeal. The VR6 is rapidly becoming a future classic car with only 508 remaining licensed in highline form at the end of 2013
The main issues that effect the mk3 golf is rust and bodywork blemish, this example isn't perfect as any 16 year old car wouldn’t be, but it is an excellent example with the main areas that are effected by rust in fantastic condition.
The ABS system of the VR6 is another known weak point, recently the car has benefitted from an overhaul of the ABS ecu this has resulted in no faults or warning lights from the ABS system. The main engine module has also been read for fault codes and there are none present. This can be verified on sale if the buyer wishes to do so.
The underbody of the car is strong and sealed well with no evidence of any rot or decay. All the above is backed up with a 1 years MOT as of 1/5/14
Having very few owners and low mileage has contributed well to the overall standard of this car and in my ownership the renewal and enhancements of OEM parts to retain the original appeal has made this a fantastic buy for any enthusiast or VW fan alike
