Spent £960 this year on fitting a new head gasket, had a leak in the water pipe and due to driving only about 3 miles until I realised it was recommended by the garage to replace head gasket as could have been damaged. (Probably would of been fine but happened when down in Newquay and didnt want to risk the long drive home obviously then leading to further problems if it had blown. Also after reading in to this it come clear that this is a common fault with the mini's and would of needed doing sometime soon anyway so was happy to get that done.
